Totally din regret choosing HKUST over other HK unis even tho it’s probably the most ulu (out of the way) place. The views really made up for it. Woke up to a wonderful view of the hilly islands and the sea almost every day for four months. That was really awesome! :) universitize-me:

I took this photo on Friday as I was walking back to the Central train station in Hong Kong. So crazy to think of this intensely busy street being filled with brave citizens with their umbrellas and makeshift gas masks fighting for their own rights.
Hong Kong is the most incredible city I’ve ever been to. Such a beautiful cluster of noises, colors, lights, and people who are more like wonderful animated characters of themselves. The city both is modern and traditional and well oiled and kind and peaceful.
I never felt threatened wandering around any part of HK. During this protest, its obvious to see just how peaceful the people of Hong Kong are. There is over 50k people protesting against mainland China for their own rights and not one car has been set on fire, looting isn’t even a thought, and the only violence that has occurred is the weapons being thrown at these people who have done nothing to disrespect their culture. The only defense they’re using against the hoses, pepper sprays, and tear gases are umbrellas flipped up and used as shields. This kind of crack down on such an unique culture gives me an anxiety about the future of democratic Hong Kong. Its a place that deserves to flurish and give China a good name.

People look down on McDonald’s employees but fail to realize that if all these folks left McDonald’s and pursued “better careers”  your ass wouldn’t be able to get a McDouble with an Oreo McFlurry at 3am.

Yawning is so contagious that even dogs have been known to yawn after seeing humans yawn. Just reading about yawning can cause a person to yawn. *Note: Most of you are either about to yawn, or already did. Source
